Introduction
The aim of the development of the newly proposed bachelor study program in Civil Engineering is to strengthen the competitiveness of graduates in the labour market by increasing their knowledge and skills based on a broad theoretical and professional basis in the first two years of study, which is deepened in the selected specialization in the next two years. This concept will allow graduates to respond more flexibly to rapidly changing labour market demands.

Program Outcome
Study aims
The aim of the study in the four-year Civil Engineering study program is to prepare graduates for activities in all areas of construction activities for which they acquire the relevant theoretical and professional knowledge and skills.
After the first two years of joint study, focusing on theoretical foundations and core vocational subjects, students continue their specializations (Traffic Construction, Geotechnics and Underground Construction, Building Construction, Urban Engineering, Building and Industrial Construction, Building Environment and Building Materials and Building Diagnostics), where they acquire knowledge focused on specific areas of the construction industry and in this area also elaborate their final (bachelor) thesis. The study of specialization, thanks to the previous joint study, allows the student flexibility in the possibility of transition to any field of construction activities.
In the fourth year, in addition to specialized vocational subjects, students work on projects related to their final work.
Study of The study program is completed by verification of knowledge from two thematic areas resulting mainly from profiling subjects and defence of the final bachelor thesis.
Graduate's knowledge
The graduate profile of the newly proposed bachelor program in Civil Engineering will be more broadly focused than the graduate profiles of the current B3607 civil engineering programs. As part of the joint study, the graduate, in addition to theoretical subjects (mathematics, physics, descriptive geometry), completes professional subjects in the field of building construction, engineering, transport and geotechnical buildings, building materials, building geodesy, building services and urban engineering. Within the compulsory elective courses, the student will deepen his education in the selected specialization (Building and Industrial Construction, Urban Engineering, Building Materials and Building Diagnostics, Transport Construction, Geotechnics and Underground Construction, Building Environment and Building Construction).
The graduate will find employment in design offices as well as on construction sites or building offices.
The graduate will meet the requirements for professional practice to meet the conditions for authorization in the fields of "Building construction", "Urban engineering", "Traffic construction", "Geotechnics", "Environmental engineering of buildings", and "Testing and diagnostics of buildings".
The graduate will be theoretically equipped for the follow-up university Master's study of technical specialization of related study programs at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of VŠB-TU Ostrava or other faculties of construction in the Czech Republic and abroad.
