Admissions
Scholarships and Funding
The University of Vaasa offers scholarships in the form of waivers based on the speed of commitment to the offered study place, previous academic performance, and progress in the studies. The scholarships can be granted for the target time of the programme, which is three years in the bachelor's programme and two years in the master’s programme. The University of Vaasa reserves all rights to make changes to the scholarship programme.
The scholarship information below applies to students admitted in the autumn 2025 intake.
Scholarships are applied for by choosing the scholarship option in the application form for the programme. Students are informed about receiving a possible scholarship together with the admission results.
Scholarships are personal and linked to the acceptance of the offered study place. They do not transfer to other universities.
First-year scholarships
2 000 EUR waiver for all who pay the tuition fee within 21 days from acceptance offer
The university offers a discount of 2,000 euros from the first year tuition fee to all fee-paying students who pay the remaining 8,000 euros within 21 days of receiving the acceptance email. Please note that the student must also confirm their study place according to the instructions in the acceptance email.
Second- and third-year scholarships
The university offers a tuition fee waiver worth EUR 5,000 to students who proceed with their studies in the target time, which means that they must complete at least 60 ECTS by the end of their first academic year. The required credits must be registered by 31 July 2026, and the credits must be included in your degree. For the third year of Bachelor's studies, the university offers a tuition fee waiver worth EUR 5,000 to students who complete 120 ECTS by 31 July 2027.
Curriculum
Our Bachelor’s Programme in Business Administration (BBA) is a full-time, three-year programme (180 ECTS), delivered on-site at the University of Vaasa, Finland’s largest educator of business studies. It prepares you to continue your studies directly at the Master’s level (3+2 years). You will study in an international environment, gaining expertise in management, marketing, international business, and industrial management, while tailoring your studies through specialization modules and electives.
You will learn to understand companies, their organization and their business environments from a viewpoint that integrates sustainable business, energy, and society. Your studies include core business subjects, interdisciplinary modules, international exchange opportunities, and internships, ensuring both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
The first year of studies consists of introductory studies that include courses in study skills and technology as well as introductory courses in business studies. Second and third years offer major and specialization studies, such as mandatory subject-specific studies, profiling modules and specialization electives. You can choose two profiling modules of Enterprise Digitalisation, Digital Economy, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Energy Transition or Branding in Global Media Scapes. You can also specialize in Industrial Management, International Business, Marketing or Accounting and Finance before your Master's studies.
In the third year of the programme, you will complete the bachelor’s thesis. Additionally, you will develop communication and language abilities, with international students reaching B1-level Finnish to support career opportunities in Finland.
