Introduction
If you're a people person with excellent organisational skills, this course could be your first step towards a successful events management career.
This events management degree helps you understand how to design, finance, market and evaluate events of all scales in an industry worth over £70 billion in the UK. You’ll study in London, near world-class event venues such as the ExCeL Centre, O2 Arena, and the Olympic Stadium.
The course offers modules in entrepreneurship and innovation, event experience design and marketing, cultural events, live event production, and strategic management of corporate events. These subjects give you the skills and knowledge you need to create successful events. You'll also get the chance to volunteer or get work experience on live events with our wide range of businesses and contacts.

Career Opportunities
Will I have a work placement?
Work placements are optional, and you are responsible for arranging your placement with support from the university.
Previous students have secured placement year at Disney, Incisive Media, Sandals Resorts International, CNN and Apple.
How long is my placement?
Work placements are 9-12 months of full-time paid work. You take this between the second and third years of study.
What are the financial arrangements?
UK placement annual salaries range between £13,000-£18,000 pro rata. Some charity/voluntary work organisations offer travel costs and lunch expenses in lieu of a full salary.
What sort of careers do graduates pursue?
Graduates from this degree have the skills required for events management careers in a variety of areas, such as corporate events, weddings, conferences, incentive travel or music, and sporting, local authority and community events. Other opportunities are available in the wider hospitality, tourism, marketing and PR industries.
Are internships available?
Internships are optional. Students must take internships for a minimum of six weeks full-time. Internships give you the opportunity to gain valuable employment experience and a Certificate in Professional Practice.
