Introduction
The Bachelor's Programme in Industrial Engineering and Management provides you with essential knowledge and capabilities to become an expert in combining business and technology. The programme increases your understanding of organizations' business, operations, and personnel in a contemporary business environment. The program will also provide you with know-how on industrial production processes, their development, and challenges.
The programme responds to the growing need to educate experts with capabilities to renew and develop contemporary industrial organizations sustainably. The aim of the programme is to educate graduates who can apply technical problem-solving skills in analyzing and developing business operations in digitizing industry environments.

Scholarships and Funding
Early bird discount / First academic year
When required to pay a tuition fee, you are offered
- an Early Bird Discount of EUR 2 000
for the first academic year if you confirm your place and pay the rest of the tuition fee of EUR 7,500 within 21 days from the date of having received your Certificate of Admission.
LUT Scholarships / Second and third academic years
- For the second academic year, 50% scholarships will be granted for the students successfully completing the studies on the first academic year (min.of 60 ECTS credits)
- For the third academic year, 50% Tuition Fee Waiver will be granted for the students successfully completing min. 120 ECTS credits in the first and second academic years.
- If the student continues their studies in a Master's programme after completing their Bachelor's studies at LUT University, the tuition fee for the first year of Master's studies is EUR 7 500.
Curriculum
The Bachelor's Program in Industrial Engineering and Management is a three-year program. By completing it, you will receive the degree of Bachelor of Science in Technology, B.Sc. (Tech.), which is 180 ECTS credits.
The program covers multidisciplinary topics of industrial management, such as innovation management, performance management, product and service development, entrepreneurship, business analytics, and modern finance, enhanced by communication, language, and engineering studies.
Your specialization studies will start in your second academic year and will relate, for example, to the principles of innovation and technology management and analyzing different operation models to solve current sustainability challenges.
The program includes general, intermediate specialization, industry internship, language, and elective studies as well as a Bachelor's thesis at the end of the studies. Read more information in the study guide.
After completing the Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, you will have the right to continue your studies in the following Master's programs at LUT: Global Management of Innovation and Technology, Innovation and Logistics, Data-analytiikka päätöksenteossa (in Finnish), Digitaalinen palvelutuotanto (in Finnish), Yrittäjyys (in Finnish), Tuotantotalous TUDI (in Finnish).
General Studies, 69 ECTS Credits
Include courses on industrial engineering, industrial economy, mathematics, physics, software engineering, project management, digital modeling, languages, and communication.
Intermediate Specialization studies, 77 ECTS Credits
Include courses on innovation management, industrial production processes, product and service development, performance management, entrepreneurship, networks and ecosystems, business analytics, supply chain management, and marketing.
Minor Studies, 24 ECTS Credits
Include courses on software engineering and energy economics.
Elective Studies, 0–10 ECTS Credits
You can select any course at LUT.

Program Outcome
In addition to understanding the digital transformation of industrial organizations, the Bachelor's program in Industrial Engineering and Management will give you a wide range of skills and capabilities to solve contemporary sustainability challenges from the business perspective.
You will graduate within three academic years with experimental, pragmatic, and problem-solving skills, and an aptitude for continuous self-development and learning to meet the requirements of the professional world.
In this program, you will learn about industrial production processes, inventive design, and creativity, digital transformation for industrial services, corporate entrepreneurship, and corporate venturing, business and innovation ecosystems, data analytics in business marketing, etc.
The program will also provide you with a solid foundation of entrepreneurial know-how to start your own business.
