Introduction
CTS Canadian Career College: Learn the Difference
CTS Canadian Career College is a locally-owned private career college head-quartered in North Bay, Ontario, with four campuses located in North Bay, Barrie, Sudbury, and Sault Ste. Marie. It is registered as a private career college under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005, and has a 30-year history of teaching excellence in the faculties of Health Care, Law and Justice, Business, and Information Technology.
The programs at CTS Canadian Career College—all of which are approved as vocational programs under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005—are current and, more importantly, in demand in the geographical areas the College serves. All programs are under a year in duration, most of which offering either mandatory or optional placements that allow for students to put into practice the theory components of the programs. As a relatively small school, CTS Canadian Career College is able to offer lots of one-on-one time with its instructors and administrative staff. Vice President of Academics Dr. Amanda Harris states, “We are proud to have maintained the small size of our college as it helps us to keep the atmosphere collegial and supportive; students work closely with faculty, administrative staff and with each other. Additionally, our small size has allowed for us to maintain our high student employment rates, as well as allowing us to provide valuable services such as on-site financial aid, on-site admissions assistance, free mature student tutoring, and testing, help to find appropriate and affordable housing, and job search assistance – to only name a few.”
Added to this determination to keep CTS small and collegial is a commitment to hiring only quality instructors who have relevant workforce experience in the areas that they teach, as well as to ensuring that program curricula remain among the best in the country, having allocated time and resources toward certifying and accrediting their programs with several highly-competitive and rigorous accrediting bodies. The college remains one of a select group of colleges in Ontario and in fact, Canada that has been granted accreditation for the Pharmacy Technician program (by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) and the Paralegal program (by the Law Society of Upper Canada). Additionally, the Addictions Intervention Counselling program is recognized by the Canadian Addiction Counsellor Certification Board.
