Bachelor in Business Administration

Let’s get down to business!

The Williams School of Business offers three different 4-year programs (3-year for Cegep students): a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with a major in Business and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with a major in Management.

The B.B.A offers the most in-depth approach to business studies with 4 concentrations (accounting, finance, global management & leadership, marketing & entrepreneurship) and 4 profiles (entrepreneurship, Information Technology, international business and co-operative education).

Students can also choose the general business stream and design their own path. The B.A. Major in Business is ideal for those who wish to have a strong quantitative and qualitative understanding of business, but would also like to combine their business studies with a major in a different subject, though this last major is not compulsory.

The B.A. Major in Management is ideal for students who wish to focus on more qualitative business skills and can only be added as a second major to a primary program already admitted into.

Joint programs with other programs at Bishop’s University include Majors in Arts Administration, Information Technology, as well as a Major and Minor in Sports Studies.

Minor programs are available in both Business Administration and Entrepreneurship. These two programs are for non-business students who wish to complement their program with basic knowledge in business. These students may want to consider doing the Graduate Certificate in Business instead and focus on their main discipline during their undergraduate degree.

A Certificate in Business Administration is available and may be completed on a full-time or a part-time basis. This program is of interest to students who don’t wish to do the whole B.B.A. or who want to test their capabilities and interests before applying to the B.B.A. If students wish to make an application to transfer to the B.B.A., they must fulfill the same admission requirements as for the B.B.A.

The Graduate Certificate in Business is available for recent university graduates in fields other than business, and people who want to change careers. It will enable students to develop and fine-tune a business skill set that is valued by the workplace and to learn how to build a meaningful network to support their future career. It is offered on a full-time or part-time basis during the summer months.

Combined with research on experiential learning, we know that the most effective way of learning is by doing (Kolb). Building on the popular theory, the Williams School of Business aims to integrate valuable experiential learning opportunities into the classroom for its students in a variety of forms.
