Introduction
The Department of Historic Building Conservation was established in 2012. It is an emerging major that is based on architecture, involves the humanities, history, and engineering technology disciplines, and studies the theories, methods, and technologies of architectural heritage protection. It has a strong practical application and cross-integration nature. It aims to cultivate professional leaders and future pioneers who have not only the basic knowledge and skills of architecture but also the systematic mastery of the theoretical system and application methods of heritage protection, as well as international vision and innovative thinking.
The Department of Historic Building Conservation has ten full-time teachers, among whom, seven have senior titles and nine hold doctoral degrees.
This major has a complete education and teaching system, including undergraduate, masters’ and doctoral degree programs. It will cultivate students' comprehensive literacy from the perspectives of culture and technology, theory and practice, history and future, and other diversified, comprehensive and innovative perspectives, broadening their vision. This will help students lay a solid foundation for employment, studying abroad, and further studies pursuing master's or doctoral degrees, equipping graduates with sound knowledge foundation and broad development prospects.
