Get certified to teach 4th through 8th grade in Georgia with Brenau University's online Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education. Because the secondary education field is so content-focused, our students major in their content area which gives them a firm foundation from which to build appropriately challenging and integrated lessons that will impact their students for years to come.

The Middle School Education program is designed to prepare you to effectively teach young adolescents. You will choose an Area of Concentration in either English Language Arts and Social Studies or Mathematics and Science. Candidates will spend three years completing field experiences in middle schools.

A bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education prepares graduates to teach in grades 4th – 8th. At Georgia College & State University candidates are well-rounded through a balanced curriculum delivered through a mentor-led, field-based cohort model. Many of our teacher candidates receive teaching offers before they graduate. We also have a Middle Grades Education M.Ed. available for students who want to continue their education.

The Secondary Education Concentration program at Saint Francis University is a collaborative effort between the Education Department and other academic departments to provide a major in a specific discipline along with a teacher preparation program that imparts the knowledge, understandings, and skills needed to enable secondary students in Pennsylvania to achieve academic success.

The Middle-Level Education, 6-8 program specializes in preparing future educators for teaching middle school learners. Students choose a subject focus area from a selection of content areas: English, Math, Social Studies, or Science. Students become knowledgeable and skilled in their content area while also learning instructional and assessment strategies, classroom management, and other relevant topics and practices.
