Designed for students who are called to work as full-time or bi-vocational worship leaders, the Bachelor of Science in music and worship equips students to lead and shepherd congregations to glorify God through music and worship. Trevecca’s Bachelor of Science in music and worship equips students with a strong foundation in worship theology, spiritual formation, servant leadership, worship methodology, music theory, and musical performance. This degree prepares the worship professional to become a skilled worship artist, worship leader, and/or worship pastor who shepherds a local church congregation to glorify God through music and worship.

Our new Bachelor of Science in Music, Worship Leadership Concentration degree is housed in the School of Music and offers a fully-functioning degree in music/worship leadership with a new core of worship-specific courses included.

The Bachelor of Science in Film program is designed to provide students with not only knowledge and understanding of film theory, but also hands-on experience in the skills and craft needed to qualify for entry-level industry positions. Graduates are trained to work as independent filmmakers, production assistants, editors, sound designers, assistant directors, unit production managers, art directors, video editors, lighting technicians, director’s assistants, dialogue editors and a variety of other positions in the film and video industry.

The Commercial Songwriting Concentration of the Bachelor of Science in Recording Industry is offered through the College of Media and Entertainment at MTSU. Students must choose between the Commercial Songwriting Concentration and the Music Business Concentration. Music is an important part of life, and for many, music means songs — a magic combination of lyrics and melody that makes a difference ranging from lifting a mood to driving a movement. Located only a few miles from Nashville, the nation's songwriting mecca, MTSU offers students exceptional opportunities through its Commercial Songwriting program in Recording Industry

The Music Recording Technology program is designed for student who desires a career in audio engineering, music recording, audio equipment design, sound reinforcement, broadcasting, audio sales, or studio maintenance. Students who complete this four year degree program, including one summer, earn a Bachelor of Science in Music with an emphasis in Audio Recording. Combining audio recording with music ensures that graduates are well prepared for successful employment in the music and entertainment industries.

The Bachelor of Science in Music with a concentration in Music Ministry will prepare students to serve in church or ministry settings as worship pastors, worship leaders, or music directors. Gain professional skills to plan and facilitate worship experiences; build and manage worship arts department; develop biblically-based philosophy of worship. In addition to studies in modern styles of worship, supplementary courses will focus on traditional worship forms.

This four-year program culminates in a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music in Worship and is designed especially for the Christian musician whose calling is in the music of the contemporary church or in the Christian recording industry. Students may continue in their studies toward Music in Worship Master’s and Doctoral Degrees at various institutions; however, they will find their four-year degree very applicable and helpful in future employment and ministry.

The double-degree program is a five-year course of study where students can pursue pre-professional studies in music as well as a liberal arts degree within the College of Arts and Sciences. Upon completing the program, students are awarded both a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.

The major in Digital Media - Video Production is designed for students who seek a program that respects and develops their Christian faith while providing training in technology, communication skills, and creative abilities. The program will allow students to develop into highly versatile professionals who can think critically and creatively with a biblical worldview to serve in technical communications positions in businesses, churches, and nonprofit organizations.

Created in cooperation with the nationally renowned Darla Moore School of Business and the University’s Sport and Entertainment Management program, the Bachelor of Science in Music Industry Studies is a liberal arts degree with a major in music industry studies featuring coursework intended to provide students desiring a career in the $12.8 billion music industry with the skills and dispositions that can make the dream a reality.

The B.A. or B.S. in Worship Arts and Bible major prepares a student for ministry specifically within a worship context. A student may choose one of two tracks within the major: Worship Ministry Leadership or Music Ministry Leadership.
