This course provides students with knowledge of the functions, regularities and challenges of recreation and tourism, and related service provision of the sector. They will understand how to maintain and improve the service quality, to participate in research-based process analysis, and planning and management. The study programme specializes in the development of health tourism and e-tourism competencies.

BA in Outdoor Education encompasses all things nature, outdoors, and mindfulness, prioritizing the use of non-formal teaching methods, developing the lifelong learner, and providing experiential learning opportunities.

A BS in Recreation Management with a concentration in therapeutic recreation prepares students for the use of activities as therapeutic tools to enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities. This career-ready concentration follows American Therapeutic Recreation Association guidelines of foundations, client assessment, treatment programs, implementation and modifications, and evaluation of treatments. Seniors intern under the supervision of a certified therapeutic recreation specialist in preparation to sit for the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification exam.

Fitness, Recreation & Sports Management is the most flexible degree in the School of Kinesiology, Health & Recreation. It allows for 22 credit hours of electives and is the only degree in the School that requires a minor.

The Outdoor Adventure Leadership degree is designed to prepare students for careers in a wide variety of leadership settings with hands-on learning activities. The program develops student’s skills in group dynamics, leadership principles, educational philosophy, as well as teaching and communication. This degree combines the study of educational and leadership theory and practice with technical outdoor travel and adventure.

The study program aims at providing the students with a technical and humanistic background that will allow them to contribute to the Portuguese and European heritage in line with the sustainability of tourism industry and taking into account the connections between tourism and cultural heritage activities.

The rapid development of the sports and recreation industry in Hong Kong has created a strong demand for related professionals. This programme aims to provide students with a rigorous and intellectual programme of study who wish to pursue or further advance their careers in the cognate areas of sports coaching, sports therapy, or recreation management. Through high-quality education and training which emphasise both theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as professional skills, and working experience from Work-Integrated Learning, graduates will be professionally and/or clinically competent in their disciplines. Students will specialise in one of the three specialisations: (1) sports coaching, (2) sports therapy, and (3) recreation management, in order to develop their professional competence.

The Sports and Recreation Ministry degree prepares the student to be an effective leader in the fields of sports ministry, recreation, and camping. Students are required to study in a variety of areas: the biological and social sciences, sports and recreation, health content, experiential education, developmental theory, and Christian ministry practices. The curriculum includes both content and process-oriented courses and emphasizes service-learning and field experience. All facets are integrated with Christian principles.

The major in Recreation Administration prepares students with the knowledge, understanding, ability, and skill necessary to successfully function in professional positions related to the major.
