Combining law with German is both stimulating and a smart career move. You’ll divide your study equally between both subjects. With this BA (Honours) in Law and German degree, you’ll raise your legal awareness and acquire skills in legal analysis and methods. The programme is designed to develop the student’s written and spoken communication skills in English (C1) and German (B2-C1) which are essential for a successful career. The curriculum includes a variety of courses that are aimed at helping students develop their language skills, as well as advanced skills in the fields of linguistic research and intercultural communication.

Training is based on grammar, language development and methodology for BEd Training Elemantary School Teachers for German Ethnic Minorities in elementary school teachers. There is a special emphasis on pedagogy of bilingualism, German nationality studies, German literature, children's literature, literature of German nationalities living in Hungary, German civilization and culture.

Not only is the following study programme based on common linguistic studies in English, but also on practically applied English Philology studies, and aims to prepare competent specialists in linguistics, who shall be able to apply linguistic knowledge and communicative competences in a creative manner when interacting in two foreign languages. The programme may be viewed as highly relevant: due to Lithuania‘s geo-political position and peculiarities of the labour market, it is necessary to have specialists fluent in two foreign languages, as well as possess fundamental linguistic knowledge and high-level communication skills.

The aim of the BA German Studies is to train students in order to gain basic professional knowledge in the fields of the German language, culture and literature. The students enrolled in the program will also be able to use the German language both in oral and written form.

We have an excellent track-record of helping our students acquire high-level language skills, and a sound knowledge of the culture and society of the German-speaking countries of Europe. This also offers students a window into wider European culture. Students develop great enthusiasm for their subject, not least because of the many opportunities for work placements in top Austrian, German and Swiss companies and the exciting possibilities of studying as an ERASMUS student at one of our many German-speaking partner universities. Our classes are typically taught through the medium of German, using up-to-date teaching methods and the latest educational technologies. You can also take advantage of one-to-one sessions with native speakers, discussion groups, movie evenings, and lectures and readings by visiting authors and academics. Our research expertise in language learning and German Studies (including GDR studies, crime fiction, exile and intercultural studies) feeds directly into our teaching. We have the only Centre for Irish-German Studies in Europe and are active in interdisciplinary research in the Centre for Applied Languages, the Centre for European Studies and the Ralahine Centre for Utopian Studies.

Our interdisciplinary German Studies curriculum offers a diverse range of courses in language, literature, and culture. The program emphasizes the study of culture in the broadest sense and offers an international approach to education through recognized study-abroad programs in Leipzig, Germany, and Graz, Austria. Courses on topics from intellectual and cultural history to literary studies to linguistics and visual culture are designed to allow students to follow their passions, develop their intellectual curiosity, and pursue their interests with rigor and depth.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) is Otago's most flexible undergraduate degree program, enabling students to study from a selection of more than 40 arts and social science subjects, as well as papers offered elsewhere in the University. Academic breadth is complemented by in-depth knowledge gained through majoring in one or two subjects with the option of minors in one or two others.

The German Studies Program at Aquinas College promotes an understanding of and exchange with German-speaking cultures both within and outside the United States. Our integrated program of language learning incorporates all of the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

The Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures at Ohio State provides instruction in German language, literature and culture. Students majoring or minoring in German participate in a balanced program of literary, cultural and linguistic study together with practice in speaking, writing, reading and listening.

If you would like to become a P-12 teacher, you can double major in German and Education and complete a teaching internship at a local school.
