Biological Engineering (BIOE) is the application of sciences, mathematics and biological principles to advance human health and environmental sustainability. Biological Engineering students take mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, agricultural, and engineering courses during their matriculation at North Carolina A&T to satisfy the basic requirements in life sciences and engineering principles for this degree. The BIOE program at N.C. A&T has two concentrations: Bioprocess Engineering and Natural Resources Engineering

Students in the Biological Engineering program at Montana State learn at the exciting interface of biology, chemistry and industrial systems. Whether discovering how microbes in Yellowstone National Park could be used to recycle plastic or working in a lab to develop new tools for diagnosing diseases like malaria and cancer, Biological Engineering students are afforded a variety of opportunities to develop skills that will serve them in positions in biomedicine, environmental remediation and more.

Housed within Montana State’s Department of Ecology as an option within the Biological Sciences major, Biology Teaching provides a solid education in biology and basic sciences with professional preparation courses required for state teacher certification. Graduates will gain a clear understanding of natural and human-related processes within ecosystems, learn the basic principles of plant and animal ecology and be qualified to teach secondary school biology.

How has animal behaviour evolved over time? What effect is environmental change having on endangered species? If these questions intrigue you, then our BSc Biological Sciences (Zoology) degree is for you. You’ll develop detailed knowledge of the biology of animals, from cells and molecules to conservation work. Zoology seeks to address issues including loss of biodiversity, wildlife conservation, genetically modified organisms, cloning and disease outbreaks. As active researchers in areas such as gene regulation, conservation, biodiversity, and neurobiology, our teaching staff are well-positioned to help you apply fundamental biology to real life issues.

From biomolecules to the biosphere, the Biological Sciences consider life in all forms. As the most broadly based Biological Sciences program, this degree will provide you with a marketable set of transferrable skills upon graduation. During the course of your studies, much of your learning will occur while actively working on problems in class, during tutorials, and in the laboratory.

Bioarchaeology enables us to paint a more vivid picture of the human past. Our courses appeal to a wide range of students across the Arts and Humanities to the Sciences, and from those who always wanted to be archaeologists to those who have only discovered the subject at university,

The Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology seeks to understand all dimensions of the human experience and our place in nature: who we are, where we come from, and how we understand the diversities and similarities among us. It introduces students to the major areas of biological anthropology, archaeology, sociocultural anthropology, linguistic anthropology, and applied anthropology along with advanced courses in several of those areas. Students choose from two program concentrations.

The Bachelor of Science in Anthropology is a concentration in biological anthropology. It is designed to cultivate one of the particular strengths of Emory's Anthropology department. While the degree requires training in general Anthropology, it has a clear emphasis on the area of human biology.
