This program is offered by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences/History, Politics and International Relations. It is available at the St. Louis home campus and at select international campuses.

The Bachelor of International Economics and Sustainability is international, practice-oriented and innovative. It deals with current issues in economics and politics, as well as the history and ethical problems of business. One semester abroad and one practical semester are integral part of this seven-semester course of study. 

Study Programme: World Politics and Economy incorporates two main disciplines: political science and economy. Graduates of the programme achieve double diploma –Political Science and Economic Science.

This course is based on an equivalent programme at The University of Nottingham, UK (L60 Economics and International Economics). However, it may span four years rather than three to incorporate a preliminary year which predominantly covers English language skills.

Bachelor in International Economics & Trade is an A-class provincial-level and collegiate-level key discipline. Logistics Engineering is approved as a collegiate-level discipline with characteristic construction. Industrial Engineering is among the collegiate-level key disciplines.

Upon successful completion of the study program students receive an international private Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Global Economics degree awarded by the school's headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, based on the recommendation of the faculty of the local campuses where credits were earned.

This program is designed to explore the connections between world economic processes, trends, and international trade and to transfer the knowledge of foreign economic policy instruments necessary for setting up and implementing international transactions (transactions in goods and services). The knowledge acquired from the program enables students to analyze and devise the foreign trade strategy and export-import structure of national economies, design and manage global supply chains, and create trading, logistics, and financing contracts that enable companies to enter international markets. The program prepares students for work in the fields of international business development, international sourcing, and sales and logistics both in domestic and international business environments.

The aim of the programme is to prepare highly qualified specialists who will be able to work in state, private and international institutions and will have good command in issues of international economy and commercial diplomacy, will be able to make independent decisions, handle everyday tasks and cooperate with Latvian and foreign organizations, offices and enterprises.

There are over 20,000 registered students at the Ocean University of China, including 4,500 Master's and Doctoral students and over 500 international students.
