East Central University's online B.A. in Native American Studies gives you applied social science tools, training and immersive experience to make a positive impact working with tribal communities. Why study this program in Groningen? The Bachelor in American Studies at UG is the only program of its kind in the Netherlands. Because we're a freestanding program (not part of the History or English Departments), every course is designed to look at America from multiple angles. Faculty experts in fields like political history, literature and media, religious studies, and Latin American culture will help you to form your own views on America and the world. In our small seminars and close-knit intellectual community, you can learn and challenge yourself with the help of classmates, faculty, and our knowledgeable Study Advisor. Also, with our network of partner institutions, you can spend a semester working on your BA and experiencing American culture and politics first-hand in a United States city like Orlando or Charleston, or at a leading university in Canada or Mexico.

Our three-year BA American Studies course will give you a grounding in the history, culture, and literature of the US, from colonisation through to contemporary times. At Manchester, we train our students to be attentive to the counter-currents of US history and literature, and our course places a particular emphasis on the themes of race, capitalism, sexuality, the cultures of labour and political protest.

The program is offered by the School of English and American Studies. The program can be completed either as a major or a minor program, the latter is only available for students who study in other major programs at ELTE. Students taking the program as a major opt for either the English or the American track at the end of the first term. The three-year-long program does not provide teaching qualifications.

The program in English and American Studies was founded at our university in 1993.

By obtaining their BA in English and American Studies, students will possess a wide range of skills and knowledge a thorough understanding of the English language and of English-speaking peoples and cultures worldwide, a high level of competence in the English language meeting the competency requirements of both the Written and Oral parts of the Advanced Level State Proficiency Examination, familiarity with basic research- and study techniques within the field of English Studies, the ability to translate a variety of non-field-specific texts in an intelligent manner.

The program is good choice for students interested in the history, civilization and culture of English speaking countries as well as the scientific investigation of the different areas - pronunciation, sentence structure, language varieties, language policy - of the English language.

The major in Asian and Asian American studies offers three tracks: Asian American and diaspora studies, Asia comparative, and South Asia.

The aim of the English and American Studies BA is to train experts who have a proficient command of the English language and have profound knowledge regarding English-speaking cultures.

American Studies program will give a chance to Georgian, as well as foreign students to get high level Western, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary education about the United States envisaging Georgian requirements. This mission will be carried out by highly qualified Georgian, as well American Fulbright Professors invited by the US embassy in Georgia.

The Bachelor of Arts with a Major in American Studies prepares students for careers where strong analytical and communication skills are valued alongside creativity and global awareness. American Studies majors critically examine American life in a curriculum that emphasizes innovative service-learning, historical knowledge, and contemporary theoretical approaches to engage actively with the community and region. As the world grows increasingly interdependent, American Studies programs foster a deep historical, cultural and sociological understanding of the position of the United States in a global culture and economy.

Siena's American Studies program allows the inquisitive student to explore the United States through a multitude of disciplines such as history, literature, art, sociology, political science, religion, gender and multicultural studies. American Studies majors are diverse thinkers who often combine this flexible major with study abroad, Pre-Law, certificate programs, minors or another major.

The N.A.S. program is an interdisciplinary program focused on the Indigenous peoples of the Americas with an emphasis on the Plains Indians, particularly the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara. The curriculum provides an interdisciplinary and scholarly approach to Native American Studies from a Native perspective.

The Afro-American Studies program's undergraduate degree prepares the recipient for successful careers devoted to an understanding and the uplifting of African communities locally, nationally and globally. The Department of Afro-American Studies' Undergraduate Program exists as part of the Social Science Division in the College of Arts & Sciences. As part of the revolutionary movement of the Civil Rights Era in the United States, the program is grounded in the need to advance the interests of the African World including Afro-America, Africa, and the Afro-Caribbean. In this regard, the concerns of the the department are local, national and international.

American Studies graduates are prepared for a broad array of occupations. Recently our graduates have entered jobs in museums, libraries, social policy, government, politics, journalism and education.
