The Digital Arts Animation major at the Art Academy invites students to study the compositional elements that are associated with time-based imagery, understand the language of moving images, and explore how these specific principles are manifested in 2D, 3D, and 4D compositions.

In this program, you will learn technical and creative skills you can apply to a variety of media and digital artworks. Many of our students choose to work in video production, but the choice is yours.

The B.A. in Film Television Production at CSUDH is a hands-on, professionally-oriented program geared for students who want marketable job skills for careers in film, television, and related media industries. Students write, create, produce, direct, and edit their own film features, television documentaries, music videos, instructional films, television public service announcements (PSA’s), and a variety of client-based projects for nonprofit organizations, community groups, and corporate partners.

The BFA degree offers a solid grounding in the creative process and business skills of entertainment, as well as an in-depth specialization in one of the key areas of filmmaking (directing, producing, cinematography, editing, production design, and screenwriting).

Compass College of Cinematic Arts offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Cinematic and Media Arts, combining an intensive, applied study of the film and media arts creation process with four concentrations: Executive Producing, Writing, Post-production and Acting. This program is designed for students who are looking to work for a major studio such as Warner Brothers, Disney, Pixar or Paramount, where a Bachelor's Degree is required. It’s also an excellent choice if you are an entrepreneur looking to build your own production company or multimedia business, or work in corporate marketing or multimedia agencies.

As a film major, you'll learn how to work in the media industry, and gain hands-on filmmaking experience through active participation in pre-production, production, and post-production assignments. Plus, you'll learn video production, digital imaging, film appreciation, and film theory.

Film Studies prepares students for various careers and further educational opportunities by providing foundational instruction in the analysis of visual culture. As a Film Studies student, you'll assess the medium of film in interdisciplinary courses. You'll learn methods of film analysis that take into account the history and conventions of filmmaking. You'll learn about the social impact of film — its uses for reflecting, shaping, and critiquing culture — while improving your ability to express interpretations of this important and influential medium. You'll emerge with the ability to critically view and interpret films, becoming a discerning cinema analyst.

Film and Media Arts majors learn how to communicate stories effectively, whether they’re interested in filmmaking, video marketing, scriptwriting, or other media production aspects. Film Studies at RWU explores the history, theory, criticism and aesthetics of cinema and the connections that movies have to broader social, cultural and political issues.
