Marketing is an exciting and dynamic industry with a wide range of possible career opportunities. Our graduates frequently find positions in digital marketing, advertising, professional selling and sales management, marketing research and analysis, and product and brand management. You will find that the Marketing program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in a marketing position. If you are a prospective student, I encourage you to look at the four-year plan and degree program requirements.

Student success is our top priority. Regardless of your career preference, the Marketing faculty are here to help you achieve your professional goals. We offer several "hands-on" learning opportunities to prepare you to succeed. These include helping actual business with their marketing strategies, competing in sales competitions, and attending regional and national marketing conferences. Our faculty are active scholars, which allows them to bring the most current knowledge and industry information into the classroom. Our classrooms are equipped with the latest technology and software, which allows for an interactive and engaged learning experience.

The marketing program is AACSB accredited, which means our program meets the highest standards for business programs in the world. You can be confident the Marketing degree you earn holds a high distinction and reputation in the business community.

Curriculum

The Marketing curriculum is designed to prepare students to be effective marketers. In our courses, you will learn how to understand consumer behavior; understand how to properly collect marketing research; and determine how to communicate and deliver value to customers. Additionally, you will have several opportunities to apply your knowledge and skills by helping real-world clients with marketing-related projects. Our goal is to provide you with as many experiential learning opportunities as possible. All marketing majors are required to complete specific courses such as consumer behavior, professional sales, and marketing research. Additionally, you will have the chance to select certain courses that align with your career interests. A few of these elective courses include digital marketing, services marketing, advanced professional sales, and brand management. Student Involvement

As a marketing major, you have several opportunities to become involved outside the classroom to help advance your practical skills. Our focus on engaged learning means that we strive to provide you with ways to expand your knowledge beyond the classroom. Our faculty invite guest speakers to campus to share their insights about the marketing industry and career opportunities. You also will have the opportunity to consult with real companies and help them solve their marketing-related problems.

We have active student organizations including the American Marketing Association (AMA) and Enactus. Both organizations provide opportunities to network with marketing professionals and also compete in regional and national competitions. As part of an organization, you will also have the opportunity to apply for various grants and develop you skills at grant writing and fundraising. Interested in sales? Look no further than UCM and our top rated sales program. Throughout the year, our students have the opportunity to compete in various sales competitions. These are great opportunities to improve your sales skills and network with sales industry experts. In the past, our teams have competed at regional, national, and international competitions at Florida State, Kennesaw State, and Illinois State.
