A Program for Future Family Counselors
With Nova Southeastern University’s Couple and Family Therapy Dual Admission program, you’ll build upon a strong foundation to develop clinical excellence and prepare for a rewarding career helping families. You’ll earn both your bachelor’s and your Master of Science in Couple and Family Therapy in four years and six semesters, so you can streamline earning your advanced degree.
NSU’s curriculum is built upon a learning system that helps you develop theory in conjunction with a hands-on practicum. You’ll learn how to work with families in crisis and help individuals develop mechanisms to better understand themselves and the world they live in. Our coursework delves into cultural and sexual diversity and marginalized groups, and you’ll graduate ready to help.
Program overview
A Dual Admission program is available to qualified freshman and transfer students, allowing them to complete a combined bachelor's degree and master’s degree in couple and family therapy four years and six semesters.
After successfully completing a four-year undergraduate degree at Nova Southeastern University (see requirements chart below), students are eligible to immediately start their Master's in Couple and Family Therapy.

NSU’s M.S. in Couple and Family Therapy program is designed to help students develop clinical excellence and prepare for careers as marriage and family therapists. Training is concentrated on brief, interactional models of family therapy, preparing our graduates to practice in a time-sensitive, cost-effective manner.
Through clinical experience and expert faculty guidance, you’ll gain the ability to work with culturally and sexually diverse populations and marginalized groups in individual, couple, family, group, and organizational settings.
