The Bachelor's Degree in Tourism Management, Cultural and Heritage aims to enable, with proper training, senior technicians in the field of Tourism Management, Culture and Heritage. In this way the course is structured respecting the necessary link between these areas.
Therefore, it is considered as main objectives of this course: - To train skilled technicians, top-level, inter alia, agents, tour operators and managers, able to streamline a vital sector for the local, regional and national economy; - To train skilled technicians for asset management, spaces of culture and leisure; - Develop an entrepreneurial spirit able to act in the creation and use of space, resources and existing resources, aware of the need to ensure sustainable development of the various offers; - To contribute, through research, to encourage the knowledge of local and regional realities and existing resources and potential; - Contribute to the organization of the diversity and quality of the proposed alternatives sector, to provide cultural offerings to fit different types of target audience; - To disseminate, in cooperation with the regions of Tourism and the municipalities, the region's potential, using the various media in particular to new technologies, creating and streamlining proposals and quality alternatives; - To promote the protection of natural, cultural and heritage assets for their proper enjoyment and dissemination; - Contribute to the socio-economic development of the region by creating jobs in areas directly or indirectly related to the sector.
In terms of skills, it is intended that the degree in Tourism Management, Culture and Heritage, has among others: - ability to communicate with various audiences, including the presentation and discussion of information, ideas, problems and solutions; - Autonomy in learning and ability to reflect critically on the practice as well own learning new skills on an ongoing basis; - Ability to diagnose problems and use different qualitative and quantitative models in analyzing complex situations with a view to decision-making; - Ability to integrate and work together, showing responsibility, initiative and tolerance; - Detect conservation opportunities and local and regional development by creating or upgrading of products and tourist services in accordance with the principles of sustainability; - Be able to analyze that cultural resources can become tourism products and understand the uses that can match a well of cultural heritage; - Establish relationship between cultural heritage management objectives with tourism management, in order to achieve a satisfactory experience touristically and culturally legitimate.
