BSC (Hons) Policing and Criminal Investigation
The University of Law has brought together a team of criminologists, barristers and staff with senior experience in the Metropolitan Police Force to deliver the BSc (Hons) Policing and Criminal Investigation - a new programme that considers the challenges of policing on a UK, European and global stage in the twenty-first century. This 3-year degree provides a sound preparation for a career in the police, immigration and private security sectors, and takes a broad view of criminal investigation including topics such as criminal and witness psychology, transnational organised crime and intelligence, and security studies. The course has a practical focus with employability integrated into the course. Moving forward, following a Government decision, from 2020, aspiring police officers in England and Wales must undergo more in-depth training and have a degree-level qualification. ULaw is currently in the process of developing a pre-join Degree and this may lead to changes to the current programme.
