This fits well with Waldorf’s mission of preparing students for “lives of service.” A Bachelor’s degree in psychology prepares students to be well-rounded, educated individuals as it reflects many of the goals of a liberal arts education by providing a knowledge base, thinking skills, analytical reasoning, interpersonal skills, and ethical values. Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Social Sciences.
The College of Policy Science was founded in 1994 in response to a growing need for an interdisciplinary approach to solving the increasingly complex issues in society. Policy Science is an academic field which seeks to clarify the causes of these social problems and explore solutions in ways that satisfy the maximum number of members or stakeholders in the society.
Carefully formulated, well-implemented policies have the power to transform people's lives. Students of policy science learn how to unleash that power by combining advanced academic knowledge in several disciplines with a focus on solving real-life problems. Issues such as poverty, demographic shifts, urbanization, and environmental change are recognized as global challenges, but they all demand locally situated responses. Policy science connects the global and the local, cultivating advanced practitioners to deliver creative solutions which satisfy all stakeholders....

The Bachelor of Arts Psychology course at the International Psychoanalytic University imparts psychology as a science which maps the human as a social and cultural being. Students learn how human individuals develop themselves in social and societal contexts, how they shape and structure their surroundings, how they become mentally ill under unfavourable conditions, and how they can become healthy again in a conducive relationship bond using psychological means.
Psychoanalytical psychology has been developed in practice and it has to prove itself in real applications. The intention with the course is to reflect the interdependence between theory formation on the one hand and application on the other: The students learn, in close contact with practice, how psychological concepts emerge from the practical resolution of concrete problems and impact on them in turn. One essential aspect here is that the graduates from this study course become capable of working independently in the field of psychology; to this extent, the BA PsychologyPLUS at the IPU is intended to provide a long-term qualification for a professional career in psychology. The study course has been approved and officially accredited until 2017 by the Berlin Senate....
